Brian O'Kane

Brian O’Kane is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the O’Kane Group of Companies and Klarke Investments, where he directs a wide-ranging portfolio that includes multi-family homes, office spaces, commercial properties, and industrial buildings. With a career spanning over two decades in financial management and real estate development, he has established himself as a leading figure in Calgary's real estate industry.

In 2002, Brian set the foundation for several development and general contracting companies impacting Calgary's urban landscape. These companies have been integral in both the redevelopment of older properties and the development of new ones, driving growth and innovation in the local real estate market. His leadership at Vectus from 2011 to 2015, where he oversaw significant property developments, is a testament to his vision and commitment to excellence.

Before his venture into real estate, Brian was the CEO of an oilfield equipment manufacturing company. Under his leadership, the company experienced unprecedented growth, expanding its operations sevenfold in five years before being acquired by a major American competitor in 2001.

Education and Personal Life

Born in Toronto, Canada, Brian moved to Sydney, Australia, at the age of seven, growing up in the suburb of St. Ives. He returned to Canada in 1991, settling in Vancouver, then Edmonton, before making Calgary his home in 1996. He earned a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University and holds CPA and CGA accounting designations.

Brian is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys rally racing, skiing, cycling, sailing, and boating—activities that resonate with his adventurous spirit. Calgary’s proximity to the Canadian Rockies provides the perfect playground for his interests.
